According to the latest rumors, Sony is developing a new line of device that will boast top-of-the-line features. The device, called as Xperia M Ultra, might become available this year together with Xperia X family. Now, here's what is currently known about Xperia M Ultra release date, specs and rumors on the web.

A tipster from Weibo revealed the specifications of Xperia M Ultra. By looking at the leaked details, one can notice that the device is set to go head-to-head against smartphone market's top brands.

Sony Xperia M Ultra is said to have a 6-inch full-HD Triluminos display and will be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 652 SoC. Other tipped specifications are a fingerprint scanner, 3GB of RAM, and 32GB of inbuilt storage.

The handset could also have a USB Type-C connector and 4280mAh battery with Quick Charging 3.0 support. These features will greatly help the device to last longer under heavy use.

In this age of selfies, many phone makers are racing to develop the most advanced camera technology. The Xperia M Ultra is rumored to have a 23-megapixel dual-rear camera.  Also, the handset's camera has an optical steady shot (OSS). One of the camera's sensors feature 24 mm lens with f/2.2 aperture, and the other sensor has 7.5 mm lens with f/2.2 aperture, as per reports from Tech Radar.

As always, we remind readers that all of these details should be taken with a proverbial pinch of salt. Sony has not yet made any official announcements about the forthcoming device beyond teasing how good it will be, and the leaks are still under verification.

Meanwhile, there are also reports that claim Sony is planning to release a high-end device that boasts High Dynamic Range (HDR) display. People familiar with the subject says the Japanese phone maker's next X-series smartphone could be the successor to the Sony Xperia Z5 Premium.

The device is called Xperia X Premium, and it is said to have a 5-inch screen and 1080p display.  Also, the device could show 1,000 nits of brightness that can go up to a maximum brightness of 1,300 nits, which is higher than the previous models of Xperia.

As of now, details about the alleged Sony Xperia X Premium are limited, but we can expect to hear more in the next months to come. Stay tuned for more updates.
