Inside, it will be powered by a 1GHz Exynos processor and 512MB of RAM. It will also come with 2GB of internal storage and Samsung's Tizen 2.3 operating system. It is expected the South Korean tech giant will announce more details in the next couple of days. The Verge suggested the launching of Gear Fit 2 will happen in June.
Interestingly, Samsung has begun sending out invites for a media conference next month. The invitation states attendees will witness how "Samsung's devices work together to create a Galaxy of possibility." The company did not give any details what devices will be revealed at the said event, but there is a strong indication that the new Gear Fit 2 will be announced. The press event will start at 5 p.m. local time in New York City on June 2.
Meanwhile, VentureBeat reported Samsung sold more than 3.1 million smartwatches in 2015 -- only a modest increase from the 2.7 million it shipped in 2014. With the forthcoming launching of Gear Fit 2, the company hopes to make good sales this year.
