A series of posts from the official Twitter account of "Rick and Morty" give clues on what to expect for next season. Latest reports say the third season of the show will be much darker than its previous two chapters. Now, here's what is currently known about Rick and Morty Season 3 release rate, spoilers and rumors on the web.

"There you go- the wait for season 3 is now 30 mins longer! Back to work for us," a post from Rick and Morty Twitter account last month. It is unclear what the post means, and some fans thought the show will be aired in the next 30 minutes. As of now, the third season does not have an official air date.

While the said tweet caused confusion, two more posts from Rick and Morty have increased the hype for the third season. First, show runners said the next season is already under production and voice actors have started their recording sessions. The second tweet suggested fans to go at the upcoming San Diego Comic-Con 2016, where some juicy details will be revealed. The event will take place at the Hilton Bayfront Park on July 21 -24.

Several tech websites hint the next season of Rick and Morty will be a lot darker. Aside from rumors claiming that the third season's first episode will begin with Morty escaping prison, there are also reports saying the new season will introduce an evil version of Morty.

IMDB suggests the events on Season 3 will pick off from the cliffhanger in "The Wedding Squanchers." The website says the first episode will show how Rick becomes the kingpin of inter-dimensional prison. Morty, on the other hand, hires a private detective to find Rick.

In the third episode of Season 3, fake Rick and Morty go on a vacation. Evil Morty arrives and takes the real Rick. Episode 4 promises the reunion of real Rick and real Morty. After that, the two rescue the rest of the Smiths from the Intergalactic Federation.

As for Season 3's air date, we can only rely on rumors and speculations. Several websites claim the show will be back on July 26, while others believe on Mr. Poopy Butthole's prediction, which is April 2017.
