'19 Kids and Counting's Jinger Duggar Engaged to Jeremy Vuolo, Couple 'Excited About Serving Christ Together'

Another daughter of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar will be heading down the aisle soon as Jinger Duggar and her beau Jeremy Vuolo made the official announcement that they are engaged.

The news comes after the ’19 Kids & Counting’ star opened up about courting the former Major League player.

It has been speculated that Vuolo made the proposal to Duggar when she was captured in a picture seemingly covering her left hand under a table, but the pair only confirmed the news on Tuesday.

In their official statement to People magazine, the engaged pair said they are “so excited” to take their relationship to the next level.

“From both of us, thank you all for the countless well-wishes we’ve received during the courtship,” Duggar and her fiancé said. “We are so excited to take this next step in spending our lives together. We are so grateful for how the Lord has brought us together. It has been an incredible journey so far and we are excited about serving Christ together in the coming days.”

Duggar’s parents already took to their family blog to share their congratulations for the couple, expressing their happiness and excitement for their daughter and her fiancé.

“Above all, we are so grateful for their love and commitment to Christ,” Jim Bob and Michelle wrote. “We are so excited about another Duggar wedding! We know that wonderful days are ahead for Jinger and Jeremy and we are looking forward to every moment! Our entire family rejoices!”

Although details of how Vuolo proposed to Duggar have not been disclosed, the pair recently shared engagement pictures that show off the 22-year-old reality star’s new ring.

With the couple announcing their courtship last month, TLC also released a footage of the pair as they had a conversation about their budding romance. In the video, Duggar revealed how she crossed paths with Vuolo last May; she also talked about going on a mission trip which Vuolo also joined, saying that she was able to look into his intentions and “admire” his character.

“As opposed to a more casual dating relationship, we really want to honor the Lord and be very intentional about how we move forward,” the 28-year-old athlete said. “We are very excited to begin this journey together. And for you to join us along the way.”

With Duggar and Vuolo’s engagement expected to be one of the main storylines for the new season of ‘Jill & Jessa: Counting On,’ it is likely that the Duggar patriarch’s courtship rules will also come up in the new episodes.

For instance, prior to one’s engagement, Jim Bob believes it is not acceptable to hold hands. He and his wife also monitor the exchange of text messages between their children and their significant other. Moreover, the first kiss should certainly be shared on the wedding day.

Jinger will be Jim Bob and Michelle’s third daughter to be saying her wedding vows. Her sister Jill Duggar-Dillard married Derick Dillard in June 2014, while Jessa Duggar-Seewald wed Ben Seewald in November 2014.
