Microsoft just rolled out its monthly update for the Xbox One console. The tech company’s popular game console gets a major upgrade. For loyal gamers, the latest version of Xbox One’s operating system will enable a significantly faster download of games compared to before.

Microsoft has recently released Xbox One’s OS version 10.0.14393.2152. The new system update certainly made some improvements as far as performance is concerned. Perhaps the most useful for gamers is the optimizations to both game and app downloads on the Xbox One. No matter how fast your internet connection is, it will take less time for you to download games and apps. For instance, those who have more than 100Mbps connection should expect up to 80 percent increase in download speeds.

On the other hand, it will be up to 40 percent faster for those with less than 100Mbps connection. Microsoft has also addressed the issue of background downloads when the internet connectivity is unstable. Also, the tech company issued a firmware update for the wireless controller. There will be an evident improvement in the performance of the console’s music apps and miscellaneous.

According to the PC World, the latest update is especially essential to those who are in energy-saving mode. If you are saving up on your electricity bills, you probably should steer clear of the instant-on mode that uses 15 watts. Since downloads speeds are not a lot faster, it is even more convenient to use the energy-saving mode. Other than turning the console on to process downloads and updates, you will only need to wait until your game is updated.

You can check if your console has gotten the latest operating system version. After opening the guide from Home, select Settings > All Settings > System > Console info & updates. The OS version should be located in the third row down on the right. However, there is a different way for those whose Xbox One is currently updating to the mentioned above OS version. You will need to use your console to check it.
Just pull the left and right triggers and the left and right bumpers on your controller simultaneously. The OS version should be displayed under Build.

Microsoft released the previous OS version 10.0.14393.2123 back on Nov. 10. It introduced an online meeting place for players to socialize called Clubs and the Looking for Group. Sending messages to multiple people was also an added function. Emojis made its debut, as well as a support for predictive text in the on-screen keyboard. Microsoft also worked on speeding up the Xbox One’s performance. The recent update will even make it a more efficient game console.

If you are a LEGO fan, TT Games’ Lego Worlds will be released for Xbox One on Feb 21, according to Steam. It will also be available to Xbox One’s rival PlayStation 4.
