If there’s one gift that seems elusive this Christmas season, it would be the NES Classic Edition console. It’s an in-demand product that doesn’t stay too long on a store’s shelf. Furthermore, there is not enough stock rolled out to retail stores. But Best Buy just announced that more than 1,000 of its Big Box stores will be selling the Nintendo console on Dec. 20.

Limited quantities of the NES Classic Edition console will be available in these stores across the United States. Best Buy reminded consumers that it will be on a first-come-first-served basis. You might want to go to the store as early as you can. If you come in late, there’s a good chance you will miss on the console.

Best Buy also pointed out that the NES Classic Edition will only be sold in the said stores and not on their website. Buyers are advised to wait in line. The numbers of tickets that will be passed out depend on the number of consoles available. In addition, customers are only allowed to purchase one each.

This ticketing process is the same one as during their Black Friday sale. According to BGR, limited quantities of accessories like extra controllers and possibly extension cords are also in stock. You might want to contact your local Best Buy store to know for sure.

Best Buy decided to offer the console because of the demand. Senior Category Officer Amy College said, “Two of the most common questions we’ve gotten this holiday season are, ‘Do you have the NES Classic Edition?’ and ‘When will you get more?’ So we know this is one of the year’s hottest gifts, and we’re excited to give gaming fans one more chance to bring one home for the holidays.”

It’s not only the gamers who will get a perfect Christmas gift. Nintendo is enjoying the success of the miniaturized version of the classic NES. Industry tracking firm The NPD Group said that Nintendo has sold 196,000 consoles in November in the US, according to the Venture Beat.

NPD’s analyst Sam Naji shared that during its debut month, the NES Classic Edition tops other retro consoles in the market. Furthermore, the mini NES came in second as the most Googled gaming console of the year behind Nintendo Switch.

The NES Classic Edition was launched back on Nov. 11. It is bundled with 30 pre-installed NES games, a NES Classic Controller, an HDMI cable and an AC adapter.
