NFL Rumors: Green Bay Packers Hint At Robert Griffin III Trade; Aaron Rodgers Gets Struggling RG3 As Backup

The Green Bay Packers are quietly becoming a Super Bowl favorite especially after the remarkable performance of Aaron Rodgers in the Chicago Bears blowout win. However, the games are taking a toll on the quarterback and the front office is expected to bring in a reliable and younger star to help him out. Among the potential football stars to sign, the Eddie Lacy team appears to be most interested in a Robert Griffin III trade soon.

The Cleveland Browns have been struggling to improve their ranking following the disastrous years with Johnny Manziel at the helm. However, it looks like the entry of RG3 in the roster was still not enough to get them back on track. While the former Washington Redskins star has been noted to change some of his problematic ways, it appears that the team would need more from him. With this in mind, fans of the former Johnny Manziel squad feel that an RG3 trade would be for the best.

Aaron Rodgers has been known to be extremely careful with his health in an effort to stay with the league longer than the likes of Peyton Manning and Tom Brady. However, fans of the Green Bay Packers believe that it would be more prudent for the Eddie Lacy squad to sign a reliable backup. Hence, they are now pushing for an RG3 trade amid the concerns raised by others who feel that the Cleveland Browns star might turn out to be a bust.

"Without a doubt, he has the potential to be what he was his rookie year and more,'' shared Pep Hamilton of RG3. The Cleveland Browns assistant head coach added, "He's tough. He's smart. He's a guy that's proven that he can have success in this league. ... It is just a matter of whether or not he can get caught up with this group of guys with regards to the time that they've had in the system. Throughout the time that he was out, he was very attentive and astute in every meeting and always involved.”

At the moment though, no official comment has been made on this NFL trade rumor. The Green Bay Packers are focused on unseating the Dallas Cowboys as the leaders in the NFC. Meanwhile, the Cleveland Browns have to regroup as they attempt to find their way out of a disappointing season – one that appears to be worse than the years they had with Johnny Manziel as their quarterback.

What do you think? Should the Green Bay Packers consider an RG3 trade this offseason? Is it time to look for a reliable Aaron Rodgers backup?
