NBA Rumors: Miami Heat Target Jrue Holiday Contract; Hassan Whiteside, Goran Dragic Work With Pelicans PG

The Miami Heat has been looking for ways to make up for the exit of Dwyane Wade, who currently dominates with the Chicago Bulls, thus NBA season. Looking to both Goran Dragic and Hassan Whiteside to turn things around for the Justise Winslow team, Erik Spoelstra seems to be looking for a third leader. Will this mean a Jrue Holiday contract to Pat Riley's squad?

The DeMarcus Cousins trade to the New Orleans Pelicans brought the 'Twin Towers' era to the Anthony Davis team. While the addition of the former Sacramento Kings star had been an exciting event for the Solomon Hill squad, this inevitably caused problems in the lineup and pacing of the group. More importantly, it seemed to have displaced Jrue Holiday from his usual role.

Rumors are rife that the New Orleans Pelicans intend to maximize the presence of Anthony Davis and DeMarcus Cousins in both ends of the court. This means that the rest of the squad must learn to adapt to playing with two big men and keep up with their lead. With this in mind, fans of Jrue Holiday believe that it may be time for a move soon.

Since a Jrue Holiday contract is readily available via free agency, the former All-Star has been scouted by a number of NBA teams including the Chicago Bulls, Golden State Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers. However, it looks like the Miami Heat is going hard on signing a Jrue Holiday contract as the team needs another leader and playmaker alongside Hassan Whiteside and Goran Dragic. Despite his shortcomings ever since the DeMarcus Cousins trade, Jrue Holiday remains one of the most admired NBA stars in the league.

"His size, to me, one of the best pick-and-roll defenders in the league," said Terry Atkinson of Jrue Holiday. The Brooklyn Nets coach added, "Heck of a competitor. He's an underrated player to me. He's been an All-Star once, but when he's healthy and he's playing consistently, he's a heck of a point guard."

At this point, no official comment has been provided by the parties tagged in the NBA rumor. However, fans feel that the time might be right for a Jrue Holiday contract to be moved elsewhere for the New Orleans Pelicans to sign stars who can easily complement the Twin Towers.
