NBA Rumors: Russell Westbrook Calls for Blake Griffin Trade; OKC Looks For Strong All-Star Partner As New Kevin Durant

The Oklahoma City Thunder finally bounced back from their disastrous games against the Houston Rockets with Russell Westbrook getting outdueled twice by co-MVP candidate James Harden. Many believe that the absence of Kevin Durant, who earlier signed with the Golden State Warriors to play with Stephen Curry, Draymond Green and Klay Thompson, might finally be showing its full effects. However, it looks like the Steven Adams team has the perfect semi-permanent solution to this dilemma in the form of a Blake Griffin trade.

If the Los Angeles Clippers had doubts on the practicality of signing a Blake Griffin trade before, it looks like the ink might as well be dry today. With the latest injury suffered by the All-Star looking to hamper the NBA playoffs run of the DeAndre Jordan team, fans are certain that this will be the last season to see the core group whole. With the free agency season right around the corner, many believe that it would be best for the Los Angeles Clippers to just sign a Blake Griffin trade and add new pieces to their lineup.

"I'm going to pat myself on the back. I've been pretty good at guessing what star won't be a star. I never bought into Melo, and I never bought into Blake Griffin. ... I used to call him the best volleyball player in the league. He's at the net, slam dunking. Still can't hit anything outside of nine feet," shared Colin Cowherd in an episode of The Herd.

He further said, "I've got to tell you something, I'd move Blake [Griffin]. They're [Los Angeles Clippers] not winning the championship [with this team], OK? As Blake gets less athletic ... last night he had one three. Everything else was two feet away. I've already got the big guy inside! And I think we're overselling Blake Griffin."

Rumors are rife that despite this scathing description of Blake Griffin's skills, there are still NBA teams interested in signing him via free agency. Among the possible destinations are the Chicago Bulls, Los Angeles Lakers and Houston Rockets. However, it appears that the Oklahoma City Thunder could be a good spot for the Los Angeles Clippers star. In a recent interview regarding the NBA MVP race, Blake Griffin shared his awe and respect for the Russell Westbrook stats and performance this season.

"It almost blows my mind to think that anybody else could win MVP this year. That's not taking anything away from James [Harden] and Kawhi [Leonard] and LeBron [James] because they've had excellent seasons too, but Russ' production is crazy," shared Blake Griffin of the Russell Westbrook stats this NBA season.

He added, "As a player, those are all the things you look for - a player who's going to make his team better, a player that wins games for you and a player who performs when you need him to."

What do you think? Will a Blake Griffin trade boost the Russell Westbrook stats if they sign the Los Angeles Clippers star via free agency?
