Man of Steel – Movie Review
My husband and I saw “Man of Steel” in 3-D yesterday, and think that it would be a fun movie for families to see together on Father’s Day weekend (especially those with boys).

National Weather Service Improves Radar
The National Weather Service (NWS) completed dual-polarization upgrades to their Doppler Radar technology in April, which is expected to increase the accuracy of forecasts. The upgrade allows the radar to provide more accurate information about the intensity of storms and the type of precipitation in the atmosphere.

Southern Baptist Convention Resolution on Suicide, Mental Illness
The Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) met on Wednesday to discuss several important topics, including how the church can help people suffering from mental illness and those who have been impacted by suicide. The Convention voted to support a resolution regarding "Mental Health Concerns and the Heart of God," encouraging churches to be more open about the difficulties of mental illness.

Southern Baptists Protest Change to Boy Scouts of America Gay Policy
The Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) has approved a resolution that opposes the change in policy allowing openly gay youths to join troops in the Boy Scouts of America. While the resolution does not prohibit all SBC churches from supporting the Scouts in light of its new membership rules, it does urge those who continue to support the organization to work hard to reverse the policy change.
