After the last crusade of the legendary evangelist Rev. Billy Graham, Rev. Greg Laurie, the pastor of 15,000 member Harvest Christian Fellowship in California, told the press that he believes in following the footsteps of Billy Graham as he enters the Harvest Crusade scheduled on July 15-17 in Anaheim.
Rev. Laurie founded Harvest Crusade in 1990, since then, the events have drawn more that 3 million people in the US, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. The upcoming event will be the 16th annual in Southern California; thousands are expected to attend.
The Harvest Fellowship utilizes contemporary methods of transcending faith to today’s youths. Rev. Laurie addresses simple, yet important issues of faith like whether God exist or the reason we are here; his method has drawn the attentions of thousands and his passion had Rev. Graham crowning him “the evangelist of the future.”
Rev. Laurie believes that the reason why many have attended the Harvest Crusades because they are searching for spirituality in the secularized world today.
The Harvest Crusade will feature artists Kutless, Jeremy Camp, Toby Mac during the pre-concert. During the three night event, other performances will include musicians like Steven Curtis Chapman and Jars of Clay, and popular artists Delirious, Casting Crowns, and Crystal Lewis.
The event will be broadcasted live on Internet and Podcasted by Harvest.
