For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all - II Co. 4:17

There are no troubles in our lives that God doesn’t use for our own gain through Jesus Christ. What is incredible is that the apostle Paul was experiencing a lot more than just light and momentary troubles when he wrote this.

Shipwrecks, imprisonment, and persecution just to name a few. These were not small and isolated incidents that could easily be washed aside. He was going through an intense period in his life because he had made Jesus Christ the Lord and Savior of his life. We know this because Paul himself would say, "Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day" (v. 16).

Do not lose heart, Beloved. It may be that today you are experiencing some intense moments of your own, that you are in a season of troubles that seem anything but light and momentary. You may not realize it now, but through Jesus Christ your troubles are achieving for you eternal rewards that far outweigh these. Not only this, but God will use these troubles to inwardly renew you on a daily basis. When you least expect it, the troubles will be a foregone conclusion but you will be spiritually stronger in Jesus Christ.
