Singer/songwriter/instrumentalist Lisbeth Scott, celebrated for co-writing lyrics and providing solo vocals for the stirring score to The Passion of the Christ, which hit #1 on both the Soundtrack and Christian charts, will be releasing her latest solo album, Passionate Voice, on January 25th, the day of the Academy Awards nominations.
The only "inspired by" album by an artist from the film, Passionate Voice features new songs inspired by Scott's work on The Passion of the Christ and sung by the principal soloist heard in the film and on the Gold soundtrack. "Grace," the first single from the CD, is currently receiving International airplay on radio in various formats.
Heard by the world, but seldom seen, Scott made her debut to a national audience as she accompanied award-winning composer/conductor John Debney on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno as they performed selections from The Passion of the Christ for the NBC audience and soon afterwards on The Today Show. The artist's singing voice has been featured in hit films such Shrek, Shrek 2, The Scorpion King, Spy Games and The Sixth Sense. Her songs and vocal performance credits for television shows include Alias, Survivor, Touched by An Angel, and MTV's Road Rules.
