Amity Foundation Hong Kong Raised 3.5 Million HKD for Sichuan Reconstruction

Amity Foundation Hong Kong held a fund-raising dinner banquet to raise funds for the May 12 Sichuan Earthquake Reconstruction at The Mira in Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong. Over 400 guests participated in the event and a total of 3.5 million HKD was raised that night.

That night, people from all sectors, including religious sector, educational sector, and from the Christian circles, representatives from Hong Kong Christian Council, The Hong Kong Chinese Christian Churches Union, and other major denomination of churches attended the event to show their support.

In addition to the photo exhibitions, traditional dances performed by various tribes, magic performances, and band performances, an auction was held; some of the items auctioned include a guitar signed by the influential U2 band members and special edition Bibles published by Amity Publishing Company.
