The Packers enter the NFC playoffs with an 8-7-1 record. With ninth-year veteran and former league MVP Aaron Rodgers at the helm, Green Bay's offense is good enough to win every game, but the No. 1-ranked NFC North team are performing poorly in defense, yielding at least 35 points in three of the last five games and hasn't held a team under 21 points since Week 7.

Nevertheless, Rodgers has returned from a broken collarbone, and he has shown daunting offensive plays - handfuls of anticipation passes in tight windows that showed case his awareness, arm strength and pinpoint ball movement, according to NFL media analyst. On the receiving end, Jordy Nelson was the repeated passing choice in Packers' quick-rhythm passing plays. Rodgers also found Randall Cobb and James Jones.

Rookie running back Eddie Lacy is Packers' key power-running offensive weapon. He has so far put down 1,435 yards from scrimmage, including 1,178 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns. His running-plays give the Packers more ways to edge their offenses to winning the game.

While Rodgers' return certainly adds to the playoff teams' worries, the Packers have not yet beaten any playoff teams. Moreover, Sunday's NFC wild card game would be a rematch with the 49ers, who defeated Packers 31-45 in Week 1.

The 49ers enters the playoffs with a 12-4 record, and all four losses were to playoff teams. They had eight Pro Bowlers this year, and quarterback Colin Kaepernick has set the NFL record in throwing at least 20 touchdown passes in a season to only three receivers. Niners' offenses haven't turned the ball over since Week 14. In addition, they averaged 30 points per game over the last three weeks.

Meanwhile, National Weather Service forecasts a high of zero degrees with wind chills that could be colder than 30 below zero at the Lambeau Field, which most would think that Green Bay will have the home court advantage, but think again. The 49ers has and will be making power-running offenses and playing solid defense, which would make them better equipped against the frigid Artic weather. San Francisco is ranked third in rush yards and fifth in defense and third in rushing.

Thus, the betting odds are that the 49ers will emerge in Sunday's game as the winning team.
