The New York Knicks incurred yet another devastating loss this NBA regular season. With the growing frustration in the roster, Carmelo Anthony voiced out his issues on how the games are being handled. According to the NBA All-Star, the referees in the matches constantly fail to call the fouls incurred against him. Anthony noted that his lack of dramatic flair when getting "banged on" causes the referees to ignore the calls.
"I'm human," shared Anthony, according to the New York Post. "Those frustrations kick in at times, especially when you're down there banging and know you're getting banged on. I don't know what else to do. I don't know how to play another way."
Throughout his stint in the NBA, Anthony has incurred a number of fouls ranging from his aggressive playing style to his arguments with the referees.
"I always get fouled. That's what's frustrating me. You play so hard, work so hard and don't benefit from that. You look at other guys -- you touch them and look at them wrong and get fouls. It's a frustrating thing for me as a guy who likes to go to the basket, play in the paint. I like to play physical. It's frustrating."
Meanwhile, his disappointing season with the New York Knicks has not yet eliminated positivity in Anthony. Taking cue from the phenomenal return of Sacramento Kings star Rajon Rondo, the New York Knicks star hopes to have the same fate in the future. According to Anthony, the downfall of the former Boston Celtics star could be attributed to the wrong directions. However, the turnaround in Rondo's performance proved that a simple decluttering of the mind and focusing on the game could change a number of things.
"I'm big on the underdog, comeback stories," said Anthony, according to the New York Daily News. He went on to say, "A guy like Rondo who at one point and time was considered kind of the best point guard, one the top-three point guards in the NBA, so to see all of that kind of go downhill because of wrong messages. I don't know what happened toward the end in Boston or in Dallas but as an athlete sometimes you feel like you don't have a voice. When you go against coaches and staff members all they have to do is put one word out there, anonymous sourcing, and your reputation is ruined."
The New York Knicks finished off practically at the bottom last NBA season. With the addition of rookie Kristaps Porzingis, fans of the basketball squad are hoping that things will turn around for the group. Moreover, the notable successful chemistry between the Latvinian rookie and Anthony serves as a silver lining for the New York Knicks fans.
