To say hello to 2016, I'm gonna say GOODBYE TO 2015 with my Top 5 Favorite Memories of 2015 (that I can think of)... #4 Getting to play #Psylocke in #xmenapocalypse. She's a telekinetic telepath who chooses to kill with a sword because she wants to do it up close and intimate because killing from afar just seems too easy and no fun.
This is not really the first time that fans had a glimpse of Psylocke. Back in December, Fox released the first trailer for "X-Men: Apocalypse." However, there was only a closeup shot of Psylocke on this trailer. According to Screenrant, seeing that the costume of Psylocke on this picture is close to that of the comic book character's, it can be assumed that Director Bryan Singer's vision of Psylocke will not deviate too much from the comic book. As one of the Apocalypse's Four Horsemen, Screenrant asserted that it is possible that she will be more integral for the film that what fans currently expect just from seeing the trailer released by Fox. However, screen time for Psylocke might be reduced since she'll be competing with a host of new characters.
New characters for the installment include the younger versions of "X-Men" favorites Jean Grey, Scott Summers, Storm, and Nightcrawler. These characters will be played by Sophie Turner, Tye Sheridan, Alexandra Shipp, and Kodi Smit-McPhee, respectively. New villains include the Apocalypse and the Four Horsemen. Oscar Isaac took the role of Apocalype while the Four Horsemen are going to be played by Ben Hardy and Olivia Munn.
In a related news, even though "X-Men: Apocalypse" is not going to be released yet for months, the film's trailer has already irked some. According to Time Magazine, some US Hindus were bothered by the clip, wherein the deity Krishna was reference to by one of the characters.
"Lord Krishna was meant to be worshipped in temples or home shrines and not for pushing movies for the mercantile greed of filmmakers," Rajan Zed, president of the Universal Society of Hinduism, stated on his website.
