Chris Pratt, 'Guardians of the Galaxy' Star, Erects Huge Cross on Easter To Proclaim Faith

God-honoring actor and director Chris Pratt spent this Easter erecting a gigantic metal cross to show his deep faith.

The 36-year-old American actor is a Christian, who repeatedly stated that the birth of his preterm son in 2013 restored his faith in God. "Not that it needed to be restored, but it really defined it," he said.

He admitted he and his wife, Anna Faris, "prayed a lot" as they were initially afraid of the baby's prognosis.

On Sunday, Pratt documented the process of installing a cross that dwarfs the reportedly 6-foot-2 "Jurassic Word" actor in a series of Instagram photos. With captions, "Pick the spot," "Haul it," "Dig the hole" and "Cement it in," his posts basically read as a how to guide for transforming your backyard into a place of worship.

A Facebook fan of Pratt and fashion designer, Sivani Arora, said she also would like to erect a cross. "Recently, I have been making a concentrated effort to live out my faith "unashamedly." It is nice to know that I am not alone in my efforts. Pratt may never have the religious following of Spurgeon, Tozer, or Graham (and neither will I), but this story is equally inspiring. Kudos to Chris Pratt," she posted.

"Chris Pratt is more than a guardian of the galaxy, he's also one of his faith."

Pratt consistently makes his views of Christianity, and value placed on family, a part of interviews. Pratt told Esquire, "I gave my soul to Jesus" at age 19 after an encounter outside a liquor store in Hawaii with a man who told him, "I stopped because Jesus told me to stop and talk to you. He said to tell you you're destined for great things." A month later, Pratt was spotted by a director who helped get him a part in a horror movie, and his Hollywood career had begun. Raised Lutheran, he now considers himself "a free agent for God." Every night before going to sleep, he prays, "Now I lay me down to sleep ..."
