Meanwhile, many Xbox Live Gold subscribers are now curious about the possible free games for July 2016. Rumors around the internet claim Microsoft might offer Final Fantasy 13 as a free title next month. More than collective nostalgia, this seven-year-old game from Square Enix is a good way to promote the upcoming Final Fantasy 15 which will be available on Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

Additionally, Forza Motorsport 5 might be offered as a free game. This title is the first game from the Forza Motorsport series that was made available on the Xbox One. The game was launched three years ago, so it is not surprising if would be part of the Xbox Games with Gold this July.

It is expected Microsoft will announce Xbox Live with Gold Free Games for July in the next couple of days.

In the meantime, Xbox Live Gold members can play The Crew for free until July 15th and XCOM: Enemy Unknown until June 30.

During E3 2016, Microsoft announced two new games with Xbox One Backward Compatibility. The gaming company revealed Portal 2 and Left 4 Dead are now playable on both Xbox 360 and Xbox One. Three other Backward Compatible were also revealed last week; these include Flashback, Brain Challenge and Babel Rising.

For gamers who are curious if Xbox One's library will be playable on the forthcoming Xbox Scorpio, Microsoft has not yet revealed any details. We expect the company will announce more details when the new system becomes available next year. For now, many are looking forward to the slimmer version of Xbox One called Xbox One S which will become available in August.
