Android is always updating itself every year, and there is going to be something very new with Android 7.0 (also known as Nougat or Android N).  It might be a while before it comes to even the newest of Android devices, and it will come to Google's newest Nexus devices when they come out later this fall.  Still, there are some newer Android devices that still need Marshmallow (Android version 6.0 or Android M), and this includes a handful from LG.  Here is the latest news about Android M Version 6.0 Marshmallow and Android N 7.0 Nougat Release Dates for LG G5, G4, G3, G2, G Stylo, and V10 on Verizon, T-Mobile, Sprint, US Cellular, and AT&T.

So, as far as the LG G5 is concerned, it already covered when it came out of the box.  The company really wanted to go out of their way to make certain that their consumers got Marshmallow as soon as they could, and they did.

In fact, it was taken care of for the LG G4, which has been covered for all carriers.  When it comes to the LG G3, it is covered for the Verizon, T-Mobile, and AT&T.  There is a recent report from Know Your Mobile saying that even the LG G2 could be receiving the upgrade.

So, what about the LG G Flex 2?  It should be getting it, and that goes for the V10, which it might have right now.  LG could be releasing an LG V11 or V20 in the future, so it could have Nougat when that happens.

In fact, the best advice one can give is if you have a newer LG Android device, it would be worth your while to check the "Settings" menu along with the "System Update" to see if the upgrade is available via Over The Air (OTA).  It looks like things are progressing very well for LG, and it shouldn't take long before all of the newer devices have Android M on all carriers, assuming that it isn't already.

As far as the release date of Android Nougat for LG, it would make sense that it would be coming soon on newer LG devices.  The company went out of its way last year to be the first manufacturer of Android devices to upgrade to Marshmallow (after the Google Nexus).  It won't be coming until September at the earliest for the new Nexus devices.  If Nougat doesn't arrive on LG devices in the fall of 2016, then it will be in 2017.
