It seems that Sony is not getting tired of adding new device onti its Xperia X lineup. The phone maker is reportedly gearing up to release the new Xperia X Compact, which is the described as the successor of Xperia Z3 Compact and Xperia Z5 Compact.

Here's everything you need to know about Sony Xperia X Compact release date, specs and rumors.

Popular blogger Evan Blass (evleaks) recently published an image of the Xperia X Compact. Based on the leaked image, the device looks like the Xperia Z5 Compact. It has the same display size of 4.6 inches and same button placements as the other Xperia X smartphones.

The only obvious difference is the larger bottom bezel of Xperia X Compact. Aside from the image, Blass did not reveal the device's other specs and feature.

A report from GSM Arena claims the smartphone will be powered by Snapdragon 820 CPU and 3GB of RAM. It might also have 32GB internal storage, USB-C ports and 2700mAh battery. For camera technology, it might have 23MP rear camera and 13MP front camera.

It is still unknown if the smartphone will have Android Marshmallow or Android Nougat right out of the box. Several websites say it will have Android Marshmallow first, and then Samsung will upgrade it to Android Nougat next year.

Consumer electronics trade show IFA is scheduled to start next week in Berlin, and Sony is set to take the stage. It is highly likely that the company will introduce Xperia X Compact on the event.

Meanwhile, it also rumored that Sony will launch the Xperia XR on IFA trade show. A report from T3 says the smartphone will have 5.1-inch display and USB Type-C ports. Inside, it will be fueled by Snapdragon 820 CPU and 4GB of RAM.

Camera-wise, the smartphone is tipped to have 23-megapixel rear camera. Gadget users who love to take a selfie will definitely love the phone's hefty 13MP front-facing camera. Not only that, it will come with a dual-LED flash and laser-assisted focusing.

As always, we advised readers to take the rumors mentioned above with a proverbial pinch of salt. Sony has not yet confirmed anything about Xperia XR and Xperia X Compact.
