Google's Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones are two of the most-awaited devices of the year. Both have been heavily rumored in the past few months, and now latest reports claim they will be launched on October 4. Here's the latest update about Google Pixel and Pixel XL release date, specs and price.

A report from Techno Buffalo says Telstra will offer the larger Pixel XL in Australia. The pre-orders for the standard Pixel and Pixel XL might start on October 4 (the same day it's unveiled) before shipping later that month on October 20. For customers from the U.S., pre-orders will also start on Oct. 4.

As for the specs of two Nexus devices, let's start with Pixel XL. This larger handset is possibly equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 chipset, which is an upgraded version of 820 with 10% performance boost.

The Snapdragon 821 will be partnered with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory. In addition, the device will have 3450mAh battery with USB Type-C charging.

It is also rumored the Pixel XL will sport a 5.5-inch 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution AMOLED display. Camera-wise, it might have a 12-megapixel rear snapper and 8-megapixel front camera.

On the other hand, the standard Pixel smartphone is said to have be 5-inches display with a 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution. In terms of camera, rumors around the internet claim there will be a 13-megapixel rear snapper and an 8-megapixel front camera.

Furthermore, the low-end Pixel will be powered by Snapdragon 820 chipset and 4GB of RAM. It might also come with 2770mAh battery and USB Type-C charging.

Meanwhile, readers are advised to take the rumors mentioned above with a proverbial pinch of salt. Google has not yet confirmed or denied anything about Pixel and Pixel XL. Let's wait and see if these rumored devices will become available on October.

As of now, there are two Nexus smartphone models. The Nexus 5X from LG is the cheaper and smaller variant of the brand, while the Nexus 6P by Huawei is the larger and more premium smartphone.

Google's Nexus program aims to showcase Android system in its purest form, without the prodding skins from phone manufacturers. Also, Nexus is a chance for Google to boast the raw features of Android Nougat.

As for the features of Android Nougat, Wired says it allows users to open two apps simultaneously. In addition, it offers quick settings that give users easier access to different menus and configuration.
