During the latest ‘Counting On’ episode on Tuesday, Jinger Duggar and her relationship with Jeremy Vuolo took the spotlight, especially with Jim Bob Duggar and wife, Michelle, going with their daughter to Texas to visit her beau.

In the Sept. 13 episode, the Duggars were featured as they paid a visit to Jeremy’s Laredo home, which is currently a bachelor pad.

“I’m really excited for Jinger to meet my parents. I’m excited really just to get some time alone with them where Jinger and I can talk to them, maybe get some counsel, wisdom from them,” Jeremy said. “It is still a little nerve-wracking with everybody coming into town to see where I live and everything.”

Jinger and the former professional soccer player were noticeably engaged in physical contact in front of their parents, particularly with arm draping.

While Jim Bob and Michelle said nothing about such movements, a TV producer asked the engaged couple about the traditional Duggar rules and standards of dating.

"Jeremy and I have our own set of rules for the courtship, and our own standards that we desire,” Jinger commented.

On the other hand, Jeremy believed the Duggar’s rules on courtships remained unclear for him and that he felt the most significant element in the process is the intention behind the actions that they were doing.

On their second day of visit, Jeremy took the Duggars and his folks to the downtown area, where they took in the sights of local architecture and chose between food establishments.

Interestingly, Jim Bob suggested they head over to a local pawnshop, which was a surprise for them as engagement rings were plentiful.

"Don't get any ideas now," the Duggar patriarch as Jinger went over the jewelry.

"I didn't want them trying on ring sizes or anything at this point," Jim Bob pointed out to the cameras.

During dinner, the former politician directed the conversation towards Jeremy’s current situation, as he presently lives on “a modest pastor salary.” In particular, Jinger’s dad pointed out that such amount of income will not be enough to support her love for thrift shopping.

"Jinger loves to go thrift shopping, and it's expensive!" Jim Bob said.

"Thrift shopping is expensive?" Jeremy asked.

At that point, the Duggar patriarch suggested that Jeremy should have a part-time job as a means of boosting his income. To this statement, both Jinger and Jeremy did not have a response.

Moreover, Jim Bob made his complaints of Laredo being hot and asked Jeremy whether he had plans of moving to Arkansas, to which the ex-Major League Soccer athlete had a negative response.

"It's kind of like you're on the gas pedal, and I'm on the brake pedal. You're still getting to know each other. You're at two months — two months and counting," Jim Bob said, while adding, "I just don't think they're at the place to swap spit yet."

‘Counting On’ airs every Tuesday at 8 p.m. ET on TLC.
