The Xbox Scorpio is on track for its release next year. Xbox Executive Phil Spencer recently said he is optimistic that the powerful console will become available in the fourth quarter of 2017. Now, here's the latest update on Xbox Scorpio pricing, release date and specs.

After attending a day-long meeting for Xbox Scorpio's development, Spencer said the development team stated they are reaching their expectations and might finish the project earlier than expect.

On Twitter, Spencer wrote the console is making "amazing progress. When someone asked him if the Scorpio might be released early, he said the team is feeling good about their target launching.

The next-generation Xbox hardware is expected to become available in December 2017, specifically in holiday season. If everything goes on plan, the console might become available at earlier time, probably on October or November next year.

Microsoft previously said the Project Scorpio will be the "most powerful" console in the market once it hits tech stores. Given that the console is "premium" in nature, expect it won't be cheap. It is rumored to have faster and better graphics processor than PlayStation 4 Pro and Xbox One S.

According to GameSpot, the Scorpio would be able to run games in 4K resolutions at 60Hz. This feature makes sense given that 4K TVs are becoming the standard in most of buyers looking to invest in high-end technology.

Inside, the console will be powered by an 8-core processor from an undisclosed manufacturer and six teraflops graphics card. It will also have 320GB/s of memory bandwidth. With these internal components, the Scorpio will be able to provide creamy-smooth high-definition graphics that's synced to gamer's TV,

Furthermore, the graphical output of the console could rival the GTX 970, which is present in sophisticated gaming computers.

The Scorpio is also reportedly being made for Virtual Reality platform. There are reports that Microsoft officials are now talking makers of Oculus Rift to develop exclusive games. The amazing graphics performance of the console would definitely create immersive VR environment for gamers.

For price, Microsoft has not yet released any details. Considering the specifications and capabilities of the Scorpio, tech enthusiasts believe Microsoft will sell it around $600.

Meanwhile, Scorpio's rival will become available next month. Sony's PlayStation 4 Pro will hit tech stores on November 10. It does not have the same processing power as the Scorpio, but gamers can try it while waiting for Scorpio's launching.
