Matthew Redman, writer of classic worship songs appearing on praise booklets, and whose lyrics have been adored by worshipers at church has just signed a deal with ‘Sixsteprecords,’ the same EMI CMG imprint of worship leaders Chris Tomlin, David Crowder Band and Charlie Hall.

Redman’s songs have previously appeared on the record label’s popular Passion CD’s that have reached platinum status continuously. Redman will release Facedown, his label debut on June 15, in addition to a DVD and self-titled book in July and August of this summer.

The upcoming album is produced in the studio in Nashville by Nathan Nockels and mixed by Tom Laune, directors of Watermark, Passion CD’s and producers of Artists such as Michael W. Smith and Nichole Nordeman. The new release will feature a compilation of 11 original tracks in addition to two extras featuring Redman’s signature guitar-driven, modern rock style. Facedown will also host vocal singer Christy Nockels, keyboard and guitar musician Nathan Nockels, and rock band Tree63’s John Ellis, Terl from “Iona” and Swirling Eddie’s session drummer David Raven.

“Matt has been an adopted member of the sixsteps family for years, so we are glad to make it official,” explains Louie Giglio, founder and director of Passion and sixstepsrecords. “We have worked very closely with Matt as he has been a part of many of our Passion gatherings and CDs. He truly has a heart of worship and we are looking forward to joining him in spreading God’s glory over the earth.”
