A Simple Man

He was a simple man

a carpenter By trade

which is quite fitting

'cause the world he made

He began to travel

and show man his love

a love only given

By the Father above

For three years he taught

and traveled and loved

Then he was beaten

spit-on and clubbed

Now on trial

he stands all alone

the ones he loved

are all hiding at home

Sentenced to death

like a murderous thief

For you and me

and All who believe
