True Love Waits (TLW) has announced the location for its Global Celebration at this year’s Summer Olympics.

During the celebration on August 22, the organization, which encourages sexual abstinence before marriage, will be revealing its international display of sexual abstinence pledge cards signed by teenagers worldwide.

The organization’s international display, which will include thousands of pledge cards will be displayed on a hill across from the ruins of the Acropolis in Athens, Greece. It is True Love Wait’s fourth international display.

“We can declare to the world that God is raising up within this generation those who have pure hearts and aren’t afraid to say so. This represents a direct challenge to the sensual “spirit of the age” that has dominated Western thinking since...the days of the ancient Greek philosophers!” said True Love Waits.

Teenagers wishing to have their commitment cards included as part of the display must have them arrive at Athens by the August 7 deadline.

Olympic champion Carl Lewis will also be participating in the event.

The organization reports the event will be available on video for download after 5:00 p.m. (EST) on August 22. The video will be available in High Quality QuickTime Video format as well as High Quality Windows Media, reported True Love Waits.

Youth group leaders and churches are encouraged to hold rallies before the Athens event and to show the video to their youth group and congregants.

Recently, True Love Waits celebrated its 10th Year Anniversary in Nashville, Tenn. The organization is a ministry of Lifeway Christian Resources of the Southern Baptist Convention.
