MESA Ministries Joins with Partners to Hold Conference for Christian Couples

MESA (Ministries for English Speaking Asians) will hold a one day conference for couples and families in Northern California on Feb. 11 at the Redwood Chapel in Castro Valley.

MESA (Ministries for English Speaking Asians) will hold a one day conference for couples and families in Northern California on Feb. 11 at the Redwood Chapel in Castro Valley.

The Asian American Marriage and Family Conference (AAMFC) will cover a variety of topics on marriage, as well as parenting issues through scheduled speakers and through about 8 to 10 workshops for couples who are either dating, engaged, or married.

The keynote speaker is Pastor Cory Ishida, senior pastor of Evergreen Baptist Church of San Gabriel Valley, a church with the mission "to make disciples of those who closely identify with the English speaking Asian American culture."

Workshop teachers include Pastor Steve Quen from BACBC, Pastor Roy Tinklenberg from CLC, Pastor Jason Kim from CIBC, and Louis Lee founder of MESA, and Christian counselors Dr. Sam Leong and Art Hom. They will present workshops on various aspects of marriage and parenting.

The conference will be hosted by MESA in partnership with Bay Area Chinese Bible Church in San Leandro (BACBC), Christian Layman Church in El Cerrito (CLC), Chinese Independent Baptist Church in Oakland (CIBC), and Pathway Community Church in Castro Valley.

Other partners include the Asian American Center at the American Baptist Seminary of the West, Christian Psychotherapy Services in San Francisco, Malachi 4.6, an Asian-American Christian ministry for the second generation, Marin Asian Community Church in San Rafael, New Life Christian Church in Hayward, and the Redwood Chapel.
