Palestinian church leaders declared American Christians, Zionists, have no connection to true Christianity, WorldNetDaily reported on 5 July.
At the three-day conference in Bethlehem, Archbishop Munib Yunan, Manuel Chassasian and Fr. Marun Laham emphasized "Zionists, Who support Israel's right to the Holy Land based on biblical grounds, are not real Christians," the Palestinian Authority daily Al-Hayat Al-Jadida reported, according to Israel-based Palestinian Media Watch.
They insisted that the Zionist Christians should be repudiated and discussed holding conferences n the United States to further the views of Palestinian churches.
The conference's president Jarris Khouri linked the return of Jesus from Egypt to Israel to the Palestinian aspiration for refugees to return to homes they had before the creation of the modern state of Israel.
He also added "without such a return there won't be a just peace."
At the conference the speakers said the Zionist Christians are opposed to the US-backed "roadmap to peace" and are against the Palestinian rights.
