Taiwan's King of Pop Jay Chou Confirmed by His Good Friend as a Christian

Jay Chou - Taiwanese musician, singer-songwriter, music and film producer, actor and director who has won the World Music Award four times - has been confirmed by his good friend to be a believer of Jesus Christ.

During an idol-worship ceremony before the opening of a film shoot, Chou, whose albums have sold more than 28 million copies since 2000, was photographed with his eyes closed, hands crossed, and silently praying while everyone else worship the idols with incense in their hands. It was said that he explained to the cast members that because of his Christian faith, he cannot worship other idols.

Shortly after this picture was posted by Chou's fans on the web, Will Liu, Chou’s good friend and popular Taiwanese pop-singer, commented on his blog, “This morning, I saw a picture that someone sent to me. Thank you. Many things aren’t necessary to keep mentioning, but I know of the conviction in his heart. He is my brother…Jay Chou.”

Within hours of posting, this comment was shared 1,909 times and had over 948 feedback comments, which consists of messages of affirmation and encouragements. Many Chinese Christians on the web offered up their blessings to Chou.

Chou music has gained recognition throughout Asia, most notably in regions such as Taiwan, China, Hong Kong, Japan, Malaysia, Indonesia, India, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam and in overseas Asian communities, winning more than 20 awards each year. He has sold more than 28 million albums worldwide up to 2010. He also made his Hollywood debut by playing Kato in the hit action film comedy "The Green Hornet."
