Jeremy Lin continues to push forward in his ambition not just on the courts but off the courts in inspiring many youths to dream big and let basketball fill their nights this summer.

“With your friends this summer, enrich your nights with basketball and transform your nights to be infinitely big,” posted Lin on his Chinese Facebook fan page, which received over 16,000 likes, 140 comments in less than 10 hours.

Lin will be heading to Taiwan in August not only to entertain his fans, but also to inspire the youths to never give up whatever the circumstance and place their faith in Jesus Christ, whom Lin attributes his success.

Fans in Taiwan have shown their eager expectations. “Come quickly to Taiwan. We are all waiting for you! See you in August,” wrote an enthusiastic fan, whose statement is similar to the comments made by couple dozen others.

Lin, the first NBA player of Taiwanese or Chinese descent, will arrive Taiwan on August 14 for a series of events, including press conference, charity activities, three-day summer camp, and an evangelism conference. At the “Dream Big, Be Yourself” evangelical rally, the 24-year-old Harvard graduate will be sharing his life testimony to roughly 18,000 people at Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center. Afterward, he will be heading to China.

According to Focus Taiwan News, Lin’s local sponsors said on Thursday that his trip will highlight the issues of childcare and sports development in Taiwan, similar to those during his past two visits to the island.

“You have to endlessly work hard! No matter what kind of difficulties you face, you have God’s love and the widespread support of the passionate fans.” This statement echoed the voices of many of Lin’s Christian supporters.
