Carl Edwards won the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Bristol Motor Speedway on Sunday despite the weather delays.

The start of Sunday's race was delayed by rain for more than 2 hours before the start and for another 3 hours after 124 laps.

It's Edwards first win of the season and first since last September at Richmond, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. finished second, Aric Almirola was third, Tony Stewart was fourth and Marcos Ambrose was fifth.

Kevin Harvick, racing fourth with 50 laps remaining, left the track in flames. Matt Kenseth saw his fast car become even faster after his Toyota was rammed from behind and Kyle Busch seemed on his way to continuing his domination at Bristol until tire troubles led to his spin and eventual demise.

With the drivers heading to California next week, everyone will have to move on quickly. California's larger, far speedier track is a whole different type of test compared to Bristol-arguably the most famous short track in racing.
