NBA Trade Rumors: Kevin Love to Houston Rockets for Jeremy Lin, Chandler Parson, Omer Asik

Now that the Kevin Love sweepstakes has been amped up, the Houston Rockets are pulling out all the stops trying to pull in the big man.

According to the International Business Times, the Rockets are putting a package together that could include Jeremy Lin, Chandler Parson, Omer Asik and a handful of draft picks for Wolves GM Flip Saunders to consider.

After another first-round crash in the postseason, the Rockets are out to tune up their lineup this summer, as they look to get some choice pick-ups through free-agency and the trade market.

The Rockets are also interested in pairing Knicks Carmelo Anthony with James Harden, and Dwight Howard but if Love is interested they will certainly explore a trade. Anthony will likely become the biggest name in the free-agency market, but the Rockets can also land a jackpot if they land Love. Love averaged 26.1 points and 12.5 rebounds per game last season and iis garnering attention from across the league. The Rockets would have to be considered at the top of the Western Conference if they landed Anthony or Love, because both players would stretch the floor and score points. The NY Knicks, Golden State Warriors, Boston Celtics,Los Angeles Lakers, Chicago Bulls, Phoenix Suns and the Rockets are all vying for Love's attention.

Earlier this week many reports said Saunders was finally willing to consider a trade for Love, after Love reportedly said he wanted out of Minnesota. The Timberwolves would be fools not to try and get something for Love this year, since he will become a free agent next year.

According to Fanside, No other team can offer what the Rockets can in terms of young assets that are both good players, have both the playoff experience, and have the will and know-how to win in the regular season. Other teams (Lakers, Celtics) can offer their early first round pick this season, but not much else in return. The Timberwolves would have to decide if the want young and (somewhat) proven assets, or try and build through this year's draft.

The Rockets would also be interested in Rajon Rondo from the Boston Celtics. If they can't land Love or Anthony, you have to think they will pursue Rondo this offseason.

According to ESPN, the Rockets like Rondo and targeted him last year. Apparently the team didn't want to give up Chandler Parsons at the time, so the deal fell through. After this season's failed playoff run, Houston management has to understand if they can get some play making from the point guard position, then they get serious about taking on some of the league's top contenders. Rondo would fill that bill nicely, and the Celtics have shown interest in Omer Asik already this year, so he might be part of a trade package to land Rondo.
