GTA 5 Xbox One, PS4, PC Release Date Confirmed; New July 4 DLC Coming Soon

Grand Theft Auto Five (GTA 5) will soon be getting an American Independence Day Special DLC this coming Fourth of July, while Rockstar Games confirmed the release schedule for the next-gen version of the game.

On Tuesday, Rockstar Games released two trailers promoting the upcoming update that parodies American patriotism. The trailers feature a fireworks rocket and antique colonial-era musket that players can acquire through the game's fictional Amu-Nation gun store:

New vehicles have been added through the DLC that includes cars, motorcycles, and the oversized 'Liberator' monster truck. Players can also ride a Ferris Wheel and Leviathan Roller Coaster. In-game characters can sport an eagle mask, mullet, or 'Made-in-the-USA' t-shirt.

Besides adding perks, developers have included new locations in Paleto Bay and Vineyard Hills. There is also the option to host a fireworks display in the backyard.

This development comes after Rockstar Games confirmed that the next-gen version of GTA 5 was coming this fall. An exact release date is still pending, however.

Initially, there was much hype in the rumor mill suggesting that Rockstar would be announcing the launch date for GTA 5 on next-gen consoles and the PC at E3 2014. This speculation came to naught when E3 2014 ended without a specific release day from the video game developers.

Rockstar's most recent YouTube trailer shows in-game footage from the PS4 version of the game.
