PlayStation Plus Free Games List September 2014 (PS3, PS4, PS Vita)

Sony recently confirmed free games that will be available in September to Playstation Plus subscribers on the Playstation 4, Playstation 3, and Playstation Vita.

As part of the subscription service, the list of free games changes every month. There are six games available on a variety of Playstation consoles for September. In the sections below is a guide that will explore each of these complimentary games.

Velocity 2X (PS4, PS Vita)

This title is the sequel to the original Velocity Ultra that was developed by FuturLab. Players battle aliens using the Quarp jet, a spacecraft capable of teleporting anywhere. Despite having a side-scrolling layout, the game offers stunning graphics that improves on the visual experience.

Unlike its predecessor, Velocity 2X allows players to land their spacecraft in order to fight the aliens face-to-face. The game's character retains teleporting abilities even outside of the spacecraft.

Sportsfriend (PS4, PS3)

Created by Danish videogame developer Die Gute Fabrik, Sportsfriends pits players in an active multiplayer competition. The title is comprised of four mini-games that include Johann Sebastian Joust, BariBariBall, Hokra, and Super Pole Riders. Sportsfriends requires players to use the Playstation Move controller.

Playstation All Stars Battle Royale (PS3, PS Vita)

Originally intended to be Sony's answer to Nintendo's Super Smash Bros, the game did not quite live up to the hype after its release back in 2012. Even so, players who missed the game's debut will be able to try out the game for free.

Just like in Super Smash Bros, players engage in a free-for-all brawl with friends on a map. Before each fight, participants can choose between a variety of Sony characters that includes Kratos, Sly Cooper, Sweet Tooth, and Parappa the Rapper.

Hoard (PS3)

Players take to the skies as a gold-loving dragon whose sole purpose in life is to steal riches from the kingdom. The dragons' abilities include burning castles, dispatching knights, and scaring villages. Gameplay also includes multiplayer, which allow players the option to fight with friends over gold.

Joe Danger (PS Vita)

This game has players taking on the role of daredevil motorcycle rider who goes by the name Joe Danger. Gamers will notice that Joe Danger's side-scrolling feature that is common to earlier generation videogames. The racing game allows players to perform tricks while going up against competitors Team Nasty.

TxK (PS Vita)

The daring 3D game features a bizarre arcade world that includes techno music and bright colors. Players will pilot claw-like spaceships that shoot dazzling projectiles at the enemy. In total, there are 100 levels in the game. So far, TxK has been generally well-received by critics for its unique take on the traditional tube-style gameplay as well as its stunning visuals.

September PlayStation Plus Preview
