Battlefield 4: Final Stand
Battlefield 4: Final Stand DLC

Battlefield 4's fifth and final DLC, entitled Final Stand, was teased in a developer blog last week, and in it, we're treated to more details about the hit game's hi-tech weapons, gadgets, vehicles, and icy environments.

The Final Stand downloadable content includes four maps set in Russia's coldest landscapes. Giants of Karelia is a rural map set in a Russian village with a secret military base where prototype battlewalkers are being manufactured, Hammerhead is set in a snowy mountain region where the XD-1 Accipiter drone testing facility is located, Hangar 21 is a Siberian map that spotlights the Titan prototype as it's being built in a secret mountain-side base, and Operation Whiteout throws the most intense Siberian snowfall at you front and center.

The game's developer, DICE, shows off some of the game's futuristic weapons and vehicles for the new content pack, including the HT-95 Levkov hover tank, the XD-1 Accipiter flying drone, the Snowmobile, and the Rorsch MK-1, which the developer says will "make sharpshooters drool."

An auto-targetting system is also teased in the blog. "Any other toys lined up? You bet. On top of all mentioned, you can expect gadgets such as the Target Detector that attaches to DMR's and Carbines and lets you auto-spot the enemy. The DS-3 DECOY emits false blips on the enemies mini-maps, fooling them into thinking they've got company."

In addition, this DLC brings five new achievements and trophies, and 10 new assignments to the game.

Final Stand was available as part of the exclusive Community Test Environment for PC players last week. This group often sees pre-release versions of new content, including last month's map tease on September 9th. You'll need to be a PC Premium account holder to access the CTE.

This final Battlefield 4 DLC will be released on the Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PC. The studio is currently gearing up for the recently delayed Battlefield Hartline that is scheduled to drop early 2015. While FInal Stand still doesn't have an official release date, be sure to check out the DLC's trailer for more info on the upcoming content.
