A recent leak has shown that Samsung is planning on releasing two upper mid-range phones: the Galaxy A7 and the Galaxy Grand Max.

These specs have been made known thanks to a leaked catalogue for South Korea, according to GSM Arena.  It showed the two phones side-by-side, like you can see in the image.

Phone Arena shows the following specs for the Galaxy A7.  It will have a screen that is 5.13 inches, making it pretty close to being a phablet.  The screen will be a 1080 x 1920 pixel (Full HD) Super AMOLED display.  It will have 2 GB of RAM, and 16 GB internal storage with microSD card slot.  The chip will be a 1.5 GHz octa-core processor, possibly a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 615.

The cameras will be a 13 Megapixel on the rear, with a 5 Megapixel job on the front.  The battery will be at 2,500 mAh, and the whole phone will be 6.3 mm thin, weighing in at 140 grams.

About the only thing that is missing on this phone is Android 5.0 Lollipop, as the specs given show that the A7 will come with Android 4.4.4.  Of course, it is common for new Android phones to get an older version of Android, and then get the new one once the update becomes available for that model.

As for the Grand Max, it has a 5.2 inch 720p LCD touchscreen, 1.5 GB of RAM, and 16 GB of built-in storage that is expandable via microSD cards.  The cameras are about the same as the A7 with a 13 Megapixel on the rear and a 5 Megapixel for the front.  The battery is also like the A7 at 2,500 mAh, but this phone will be thicker at 7.9 mm.  Another similar feature to the A7 is that it will come loaded only with Android 4.4.4.

It looks like both the Galaxy A7 and the Grand Max will be sold over in South Korea, with the A7 to be offered by three different carriers.  GSM Arena also reports that the Galaxy A7 has also appeared on a Russian website with specs that look slightly different as it reports a 5.5 inch screen.

There is no word whether or not these phones will come over to the United States.  However, CES 2015, a giant consumer electronics show held annually in Las Vegas, is happening next week.  Perhaps Samsung will put the Galaxy A7 and Grand Max on display there, so far rumors suggested that the launch date of the A7 will be on January 17.
