New HTC Desire Smartphone On the Way: HTC CES 2015 Poster Teases 'Always Desire More'

Next week will be a huge consumer electronics show held annually in Las Vegas called CES.  All of the big names in the consumer electronic world will be there, and one of them will be HTC, who often doesn't bring anything new to the table.  However, a teaser poster from the phone company promises "Always Desire More", which could easily signal a launch of a new version of the Desire phone.

If the slogan of HTC's presence at CES 2015 is some type of clue, then it seems a little early to announce anything more to the Desire series.  HTC just premiered the Desire 820 at the beginning of September at IFA, and they also just announced the Desire EYE, a smartphone made for selfies.  One can find the HTC Desire 816 4G LTE on the Virgin Mobile USA website receiving high reviews (4.7 out of 5 stars).

According to Ubergizmo, the Desire lineup doesn't consist of high-end devices, and they predict that the new handset, if any, will fit that same bracket.  They predict that these new Desire devices will come with Lollipop (Android operating system 5.0) right out of the box, so that is a plus.  The Desire 816 comes with only KitKat version of Android with 4.4.2.

Phone Arena speculates that the Desire 620 is expected to see an international release in January.  However, the Desire 620 is already in China, so it is doubt that HTC will use CES 2015 to spotlight something that is already out there.

So what more can be brought to the Desire series?  There have been a lot of rumors that several phones will be debuted at CES as Android Authority reports that Sony, LG, and ASUS have plans for their unveilings.  CES is one of many events where phone manufacturers show off their latest phones, even though they might be available for release until later in the year.

We at the Gospel Herald have already speculated that HTC might unveil the Hima phone, or M9 due to a leaked photo.  Many have speculated that HTC is probably going to postpone the M9 until Mobile World Congress in March 2015, since the M7 and M8 have been historically unveiled there.

One thing that is interesting about the dates on the poster is the dates are for January 5th and January 6th.  The times of 5:00-7:00 are Beijing China, which will be different then the dates in Las Vegas, Nevada.  January 5th of 2015 is a Monday, which is a day before the CES conference officially begins.  That day is full of Press Conferences by many big names in the consumer electronics industry such as LG, Panasonic, Samsung, and other big contenders.  As for January 6th, that is the first official day of CES 2015.

We at the Gospel Herald will attend CES 2015, and intend to get out as much information as we can about important announcements.
