Apr 24, 2015 05:49 PM EDT

As far as the May 2015 releases of free games for the PlayStation Plus are concerned, I hate to tell you that there really isn't any word, but there has been a lot of free game predictions for May 2015 while word of the free games for the month isn't usually released for just before the month begins.

According to Day Herald, there is something that we do know about free offers for May from Sony.  In fact, Sony Computer Entertainment recently released PlayStation Plus Bonus for all Italian subscribers.  This offer includes several promotions, presented by selected partners of the game studio, and these productions will be divided into three categories comprising of "Discounts", "Benefits", and "Vouchers".  There is no word on whether or not there is going to be these offers in other countries besides Italy, and I can't help but wonder if these new offers will extend to other countries.  Perhaps Sony is doing some kind of testing program for just Italy.

Before May 2015 begins, I would highly recommend getting in on the April games.  I'll start with the ones available for both the PS4 and the PS3, which include Aaru's Awakening and Tower of GunsPlayStation Blog reports that Aaru's Awakening is the first game from the independent studio of Lumenox Games, and it is a fast-pace platformer game with puzzles based on the protagonist's ability to teleport and change.  As for Tower of Guns, it is a single-player first-person shooter where the player has to ascend a tower full of guns that shoot all kinds of ammo at them with loads of exciting gameplay.

The PS4 exclusive game is Never Alone.  For those who are not familiar with the game, the Never Alone website describes it as developed by 40 Alaska Native elders, storytellers, and community members from the Inupiat, an Alaska Native people.  The protagonist is a young Inupiat girl and an arctic fox who are trying to "find the source of an eternal blizzard that threatens the survival of everything they have ever known".

There is also another exclusive PS4 free game known as Whoa Dave! It is a platform style video game developed by MiniVisions for many consoles, but not the mobile market.  It was just released for the PlayStation Vita at the beginning of this year, and I would have to say that the game is quite...square.  Screenshots of the video game seem to go for a retro look of eighties games on the Atari 2600, complete with blocky squares.  The game has received some good reviews, so perhaps this will be a new fan favorite, especially with the free price for April.

As for the PS3, the big grab this month is Dishonored.  We have already reported that Dishonored is coming in April 2015. Dishonored is a game developed by Bethesda Softworks, and it has a very unusual look to it.  It takes place in an industrial city of Dunwall, on some other world entirely, but it resembles Victorian London.  For this reason, the game has a dark steampunk look that is pretty unique.  The action is based on stealth and combat as the city is infected by a serious plague.

The free games for the PlayStation Vita are Killzone Mercenary and MonsterBagKillzone Mercenary is a first-person shooter designed specifically for the Vita platform, and it is the fifth title of the Killzone franchise, taking place throughout certain locations in the first three installments of the Killzone universe.  As for MonsterBag, Techno Buffalo describes it as puzzle, platform, and action game.

For those that are not familiar with PlayStation Plus, it is a paid PlayStation Network subscription service to provide users with some great features including having game patches and system software updates download automatically to the console, as well as getting some betas and demos of new games, not to mention the store discounts and the already mentioned free games.  The PlayStation online multiplayer requires a subscription to PlayStation Plus.

As for what Sony PlayStation Plus free games will be available for May 2015, there is no leak on that front just yet.  For those on the PlayStation Plus network, I'm sure that you're looking forward to see what free games are available in May of 2015.
