'Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare' Free DLC Patch Update Release Date: New Multiplayer Weapons, Gear

May 24, 2015 12:38 AM EDT

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare players will soon receive new weapons and gear in the latest free DLC. This was announced in a trailer released days ago on YouTube. According to official sources, every item featured in the video is free. The new downloadable content is already available on Xbox One, but will soon be released on Playstation 4 and PC.

The latest DLC will include an all new Royal Elite variants and SAC3. Both items can be accessed during gameplay via Supple Drops. Sadly, the new downloadable content will not be available on older consoles such as the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. This is due to hardware limitations, according to the official CodAW community page.

M1 Irons: One Shot, One Kill Revolver

In the recent CodAW trailer, viewers were given a glimpse of the new M1 Irons revolver. This pistol is a modern iteration of the iconic Western six-shooter. Players can run around in multiplayer like Wyatt Earp, gunning down enemies with just one shot each.

Of course, it will definitely take skills to land a bullet accurately. Operators can only fire one bullet at a time. As it is light and powerful, this weapon seems to favor running-and-gunning tactics.

There is also an animation showing the player's hand swiping the hammer in between shots - a popular technique employed by gunslingers. Gamers can also dual-wield the pistols for rapid-firing, but at the cost of accuracy.

In total, there are 10 weapon variants for the M1 Irons. Players will also find additional M1 Irons skins such as Enlightened, Neuro, Passionate, Punk, and Thermal.

New SAC3 Non-Akimbo and Royalty Elite Variants

On May 19, Xbox One players will receive five non-Akimbo variants of the SAC3 submachine gun. The weapon is capable of precision ADS targeting. Xbox One owners will also get 10 SAC3 Royalty Elite variants, which dress the gun in purplish gun-metal camouflage. This is the same color used in the Grand Master Prestige armor.

Both SAC3 variants will eventually be available to PS4 and PC, even though details are scarce.

Exclusive Xbox One and Xbox 360 Content

CodAW developer, Sledge Hammer Games, announced the new Xbox-exclusive Neuro Gear Set. This rather gnarly load-out has players wearing a helmet and backpack shaped like the human brain. The exoskeleton now resembles a giant artery.

The official Call of Duty: Advance Warfare community page shows four new loadouts. An item description for each loadout remains absent. However, Sledge Hammer may offer more details at a later time.
