The American teen drama mystery thriller Pretty Little Liars has been quite a hit for ABC Family. Based on a book series of the same name written by Sara Shepard, the success actually prompted its book series to be increased. The show was recently renewed for two seasons, and it sounds like these will be the last. Season 6 Episode 2 will air next week, and this is what we know about Season 6 release date, cast, and spoilers for what looks like the season before the final season.
In talking about the Spoilers for Pretty Little Liars, I'm going to have to start out by saying what is essentially already spoiled, and that Charles DiLaurentis is A. If you are trying to catch up to this show because you missed Pretty Little Liars during its first five sesaons, I'm sorry to say that you now know this, and it will undoubtedly affect how you view it.
However, according to the Latino Post, the revelation of A is only part of the story. Marlene King, the series creator, has stated that Pretty Little Liars has been "a huge puzzle, a puzzle of a thousand pieces, and we're just a few pieces away from finishing the puzzle". The show has been renewed for two more seasons, and I really hope that this means the writers have thought ahead to the series finale and will craft two seasons of excellent wrap-up. This appears to be the case, as King has stated that "the shotgun has gone off and we are racing to the finish line and it's just non-stop right now".
As far as Season 6 goes, Charles will be revealed in the first ten episodes. Apparently, that is a big revelation because the actor who plays Charles does not even know that he's the puppet master. Speaking of puppets, the Season finale from season 5 started with them all in Charles's dollhouse, and it still leaves them there as season six will take place in a condensed period of time.
On the subject of time, there have been reports by several sources including Design and Trend that the sixth season of Season 6 will have a time jump. It is said that this time jump will be about four years long, which means that all of the Liars could easily have obtained four-year degrees.
There are talks that the time jump will mean that characters will have babies. Lucy Hale, who plays the role of Aria Montgomery, is wondering if she will have a baby with Ezra (Ian Harding). She says "I don't know. I truly, genuinely have no idea. I want to think hopefully when we do the time jump they're trying to have babies and stuff, but we'll see".
Hale's co-star Ashley Benson posted a series of "pregnancy photos" on her Instagram account, which immediately sparked rumors that she could be pregnant or ended up pregnant in the context of the ABC series. Eventually, Benson posted photos on Snapchat saying that she was "pregnant on pizza".
It does look like Season 6 will be an exciting one. Episode 2 will air on 8:00 PM June 9, 2015 on ABC Family, and it will feature the girls struggling with the lasting after effects of their time spent within the dollhouse. Fans can watch the live stream online by clicking here.
