Mila Jovovich has confirmed she would reprise her role for the last time as Alice, the supremely efficient killing machine and bio-weapon, in the next and final installment of the hugely successful Resident Evil franchise.

On Wednesday, Jovovich posted on her Instagram account, millajovovich, she is flying to South Africa on July 16 to prepare for the filming of Resident Evil 6: The Final Chapter, which will start shooting in August.

The 39-year-old actress also shared a picture of her getting a mold of her face as part of the pre-production preparation for her role as Alice, the tough zombie-killing hero in Resident Evil with super human abilities.

Jovovich wrote this message with the photo, "Well, the moment so many of you have been waiting for is finally here where I can tell you that it's zombie killing season for the Jovovich-Anderson clan! Here I am getting my face cast made for "resident evil: the final chapter"!! I leave to South Africa tomorrow (July 16) to start prepping for the movie! #residentevilmovie #ladiary."

Jovovich's husband, Paul W. S. Anderson, will write and direct the Resident Evil 6: The Final Chapter. Anderson also wrote the first Resident Evil film (2002) and continued on as writer and producer for the sequels, Resident Evil: Apocalypse (2004) and Resident Evil: Extinction (2007), and returned as the director for Resident Evil: Afterlife (2010) and Resident Evil: Retribution (2012).

With five films released, the Resident Evil film series is the highest grossing film series to be based on video games of all time, having grossed $915 million worldwide. The original movie in 2002 earned $102 million globally, while the 2004 Apocalypse generated $129 million, the 2007 Extinction profited $147 million, the 2010 Afterlife earned the highest profits for the series with $296 million, and Retribution, 2012's penultimate episode, raked in $240 million.

Resident Evil 6: The Final originally set for release in September 2014 but the filming was delayed because Jovovich and Anderson were expecting their second child, said Comingsoon.net.

"I'm really proud of myself for not gaining the same amount of weight that I did with our first child (75 lbs.) because I have to be ready to start filming 'Resident Evil- The Final Chapter' in August of this year and I will also be nursing an infant simultaneously," she said.

In Resident Evil: The Final Chapter, Alice Abernathy will continue fighting zombies and monsters created by the fictional The Umbrella Corporation, particularly the so-called The Red Queen, Umbrella's AI system, said MovieWeb.

Alice will be helped by Jill Valentin, Leon Scott Kennedy, Ada Wong, and her daughter Becky, while continuing an uneasy alliance with Albert Wesker, the former head of Umbrella. Our heroes will be joined by former comrades Chris Redfield, Claire Redfield, and Kmart.

The final battle to save the human race will take place in the dark mansion built by Umbrella founder Lord Ozwell E. Spencer where it all began. Alice must lead her team deep into the underground research and development center called The Hive where The Red Queen is holed up.
