There were a lot of rumors that LG would announce their new flagship phone, the LG G4, at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in March 2015. That did not happen, but it was announced and then came out in the Spring. The LG G3 was apparently a big hit to inspire a sequel with the LG G4, and already people are talking about the LG G5. This is what we know about LG G5 Rumors, Release Date, as well as some predictions on the specs.
According to Tech Radar, there looks to be already some plans for the LG G5. Actually, it is more like suggestions for what will be on the 2016 version of the LG flagship phone.
The first suggestion for the LG G5 was to drop the new leather exterior that the G4 is sporting and go for something with an all-metal design. The other possibility is a fingerprint or biometric scanner, as this is starting to become a standard feature of most smartphones. PC Advisor even suggests that LG could be working with a company known as Irience to bring an iris scanner to the next flagship phone. It would be terrific to see it work at a distance from 50 centimeters rather than the usual 30 centimeter range that some iris scanners have.
The LG G4 screen was not a step up for the smartphone as the LG G3 also sported a QHD screen. It seems only logical and a necessary step up to give the LG G5 a 4K (3840 x 2160) screen. Then there is the necessary upgrade to the battery life, as well as a faster camera.
In addition to these upgrades, the LG G5 could come with a possible 6-inch screen, according to the Venture Capital Post. The screen could have a Corning Lotus or Willow Glass or even a Sapphire Glass for the protection of the screen.
On the inside could be a massive amount of RAM at 6 GB, which is interesting because the standard these days for a smartphone is about 4 GB. As far as what operating system it would run, it would definitely be Android M, or whatever the next step up from that. Some have estimated Android 6.0, which might be too early to talk about.
In fact, I'm going to just out and say that it is probably way too early to talk about the LG G5. After all, the LG G4 has just come out, so I'm just going to say that we won't be seeing it until Spring 2016. That feels like far away to me, and I believe that LG is planning on launching a new flagship phone sometime then.
