Dying Light will soon receive new content in a major DLC expansion, which will be released sometime in the future. It is already available on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC. The massive story-based expansion is currently being dubbed as "The Following."

Dune Buggies and New Map Revealed

The Following will include never-before-seen dune buggies, missions and multiplayer content. Screenshots for the new content were earlier revealed by Techland via Facebook, but have been taken down since then.

Happily, Design&Trend reposted those images for all to enjoy. The publication also noted that the expansion's map is larger than the previous one for the fictional city of Harran.

Based on what was revealed so far, the setting has been moved from the urban streets to the sprawling fields of the countryside. In order to get around, players will need to drive around in vehicles.

For now, only the dune buggy has been revealed though it is possible for other modes of transportation. Gamers will need to wait for more details from Techland.

Expansion will Be 'Game Changer'

"For Dying Light: The Following we're adding a number of bold game-changers to create one massive expansion," said producer Tymon Smektala, according to VG 24/7. "Something big that will give the game a brand-new flavor. There is a lot we're packing in here."

Smektala also insisted that his team values the opinions of the Dying Light player community.

"We also kept a close eye on player feedback to help tailor what we've created here. Hopefully people will see that this new expansion is first and foremost, for the fans," he said.

Purchasing "The Following"

Upon launch date, the expansion will be available for separate purchase. However, customers who already bought the Season Pass will get The Following for free.

Recently, a demo for The Following was shown at the Gamescom conference in Germany. The gathering concludes this Sunday, August 9.
