Street Fighter 5 Release Date: Beta 1.02 Patch Update, Street Fighter To Be Featured in GameStop Expo 2015

Aug 17, 2015 03:07 AM EDT

The highly-popular fighting video game Street Fighter will be featured in this year's GameStop Expo on September 2 in Las Vegas' Sands Expo & Convention Center, organizers of the annual event said in a statement. The expo will be live streamed on YouTube and Twitch, the statement added. GameStop is a family of specialty retail brands that makes the most popular technologies affordable and simple.

The appearance of Street Fighter 5 in this year's GameStop Expo is a major improvement as the organizers of the expo very seldom feature a fighting game in the event.

Kinda Funny Games will be hosting the livestream which will also feature news from the game previews, show floor and demos from top publishers and developers. Industry leaders, game developers and other guests will also be given the opportunity to showcase their latest developments and on-going projects during interviews.

An overview of Capcom's Street Fighter 5 will be held at 1:45 p.m., and an actual tournament to be held at 2 p.m., the statement added.

Event Hubs said the appearance of Street Fighter 5 is expected to make this year's GameStop Expo more exciting as fighting games are hardly featured during past events despite its popularity among gaming fans. Players during the tournament can start using Necalli and Vega, the report added.

Street Fighter 5 Beta Gets 1.02 Patch Update

Meanwhile, the Street Fighter V beta which was launched last month on PlayStation 4, received an automatic update on August 13 to resolve some issues and to further improve the beta's functionality, reported TwinFinite. Street Fighter 5 beta was officially postponed by Capcom for extended maintenance, the report added.

In its official Twitter account, @StreetFighter, Street Fighter posted a series of updates about the patch and described the updates as an "internal stress test" for the game's servers.

Street Fighter posted, "We appreciate your continued patience and we'll share more information on the timing of the official beta tests soon."

"This is to help us get the first official public beta program re-launched as quickly as possible."

And also, "We are currently running an internal stress test on the SFV servers."

The beta 1.02 update is at least 1.2GB in size and is expected to enhance login and matchmaking.
