Mortal Kombat X director, Ed Boon, tweeted a fan video offering new characters prediction for the fabled "Kombat Pack 2".

Earlier, Boon hinted at the existence of the upcoming DLC by adding numeral one in references to the original Kombat Pack. NetherRealm Studios has yet to formally announce the second Kombat Pack DLC.

Ed Boon Shares Fan Theory on Twitter

Last Friday, Ed Boon teased Mortal Kombat X fans with yet another twitter posting. This time, he shared a YouTube posting from MKX streamer Maximilian Dood.

Boon called the recent video "an interesting perspective on future Mortal Kombat DLC from our friend." However, he stopped short of offering a clear endorsement for Max's theories. The reasons for Boon's latest activity remain a mystery.

In-Depth Look at Max's Theories

Maximilian Dood's theories are actually based on a series of cryptic tweets by Ed Boon. In previous weeks, the Mortal Kombat franchise co-creator cheekily teased the existence of fan-favorite classic characters over on Twitter.

In his video, Max said he believed that Sindel will be made playable in Kombat Pack 2. On Twitter, Boon had promised to bring a character who screamed loud. Longtime Mortal Kombat fans will know that Queen Sindel possesses that ability.

Another character predicted in the video is Baraka, who was playable in the previous Mortal Kombat installment. Max said that Smoke, who was renamed Enenra, will likely become playable as well. Smoke, whose fighting style revolves around vapor, is a fan-favorite. Max said he also wanted to see many other familiar characters. These include Cyborg Cyrax, Cyborg Sektor, Cyborg Smoke and Noob Saibot.

Besides bringing back old characters, NetherRealm has introduced horror movie icons including Jason and Predator. There have been memes and rumors hinting at the possibility of Xenomorphs from the Aliens franchise. However, Max is only giving this rumors 25 percent chance of happening.

At the end of the video, the Mortal Kombat watcher predicted that the next Kombat Pack will be announced no later than the end of August. It remains to be seen whether Max's theories will pan out at the end of this month.
