It's going to be like Valentines for Callie and Arizona Dr. Callie Torres (Sara Ramirez) and Dr. Arizona Robbins (Jesse Capshaw) as love is in the air to the former lovers in the next season of ABC's medical drama hit series Grey's Anatomy.

Unlike Dr. Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo) who will try to cope with the heart-breaking death of her husband Derek Shepherd a.k.a. McDreamy (Patrick Dempsey), Callie and Arizona will be back on the dating scene in season 12 of Grey's Anatomy, executive producer Shonda Rhimes said.

Rhimes was quoted as saying by Christian Post, "They're going to both be dating women. I do want to honour the fact that Callie is bisexual, and we've established that she's dated guys. But in terms of where she's going now, she's going to be dating a woman."

The former couple will start seeing new dates after their divorce. A certified lesbian, Arizona is expected to start dating other woman, while Callie, a self-confessed bisexual can date both men and women. After all, Callie has been in a relationship with other men before she met Arizona.

Maggie to Start a New Life

On the status of Dr. Maggie Pierce (Kelly McCreary), the actress said that her character has found a new home in the next season. McCreary said, "I can tell you straight up that Maggie has a home. Remember how we never saw last season where Maggie lives? Now she lives with Amelia and Meredith in Ellis' house, which is super cool. There will definitely be some conflict, but of the hilarious variety as opposed to the sisters-pulling-each-other's-hair-out variety. You can expect some 'clashes of the titans' going on."

McReary also hinted that Maggie will have a major change in her life in the next iteration of Grey's Anatomy, adding that Maggie will found a new love interest spicing up her love life.

Meredith Grey Making Adjustment After Loss of McDreamy

While other doctors in the Grey's Anatomy will find new love interests in the next season, Meredith Grey will have to approach season 12 coping with the loss of her husband, McDreamy.

"So many people lose their spouses in a myriad of different ways and feel they can't get up again and to tell the story of how life goes on after ... that's a story worth telling," Pompei said in an interview.

The actress added that she is approaching Season 12 of Grey's Anatomy with a new challenge on her character and added that playing without Derek would the some of the "best scenes to play" in the upcoming episodes of the new season as she has already been accustomed to playing her part with Dempsey playing as her husband.

The official release date of Season 12 of Grey's Anatomy is scheduled on September 24 on ABC.
