Orlando Bloom will reprise his role as Will Turner a.k.a. Davey Jones in the fifth installment of the hugely popular swashbuckling adventure movie franchise Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.
Bloom last appeared on the series in Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End which was shown in 2007. He and screen partner Keira Knightly, who portrays Elizabeth Swan in the series, did not make an appearance in the fourth installment, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. His character was never even mentioned in the fourth movie.
However, his return in the fifth movies does not come as a surprise as there have been too many rumors of his possible comeback. Presumably to pacify his fans who have come to love his charming character in the Pirates of the Caribbean series.
Bloom himself has made several hints of his possible return to the franchise, but added he would be returning as the "gnarly," Davy Jones of Billy Nighy when he reprises his role.
He was quoted as saying, "I'm of course Davy Jones now, so I'm down the bottom of the ocean. It might be kind of fun to do something where I'm rumbling round the bottom of the ocean, because I won't look anything like me. Get all gnarly,"
Meanwhile, appearing before the recent Disney's D23 Expo 2015, Depp wowed the fans and crowd when he entered the stage on character and jokingly uttered, "Where are we?," with his usual stagger and falter, reported Movie News Guide.
Walt Disney president Sean Bailey replied to him, "Disneyland." To which, copying his famous character, and blinking thoughtfully, Capt. Jack Sparrow responded, "Never heard of it," and started to throw grapes into the crowd to the delight of the fans.
After that he started throwing out grapes into the crowd.
It was learned that filming for the Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales has already been wrapped up and that it is now in post-production stage. Other actors who will reprise their roles in the upcoming Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales are Geoffrey Rush as Captain Barbossa, Javier Bardem, Kaya Scoderlario and Brenton Thwaites.
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales is expected to hit the big screen on July 7, 2017.
