The so-called "Middleton Rules" are allegedly overstepping its boundaries that the Duchess of Cambridge, Princess Kate Middleton and her family are of often at odds with Queen Elizabeth, sources from the royal palace said, reported Celebrity Dirty Laundry.

The report, citing highly-placed sources that Kate has taken control of Prince William and his schedule with an iron fist rule and insisted on her family's middle class lifestyle as against the royal values, which on many occasions, broke the royal protocol.

Kate's "manipulative" rules have resulted to some serious strain on her relationship with the Duke of Cambridge that they parted way one month before Princess Charlotte was born. In September 2014, Kate stayed at her parent's home in Bucklebury, while the Duke dutifully fulfilled his royal duties.

But Queen Elizabeth will not have none of this separation and intervened in forcing the couple to live together again at Balmoral Castle in late October. It was only then that Kate was seen again in public to attend royal functions.

The Middleton Rules were reportedly "drafted" when William and Kate got engaged under the initiative of the Prince and promised Michael Middleton that Kate Middleton will not suffer the same fate as his late mother, Princess Diana.

The Middleton Rules emerged immediately after the wedding of Kate and Prince William to ensure that the Duchess will continue to enjoy her privacy. The rule also applies to all aspects of the Royal couple's lives, including how to raise their children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte.

Kate was also reported to have used this rule for skipping the wedding of socialite Daisy Dickson and Old Harrovian estate agent Bear Maclean in Devon. Kate skipped the event and instead send her husband, Prince William and her sister, Pippa Middleton, as chaperone for the weekend wedding event.

But the original Middleton Rules, which was presented to the Queen and Prince Charles with the ill-fate of Princess Diana in mind, has now expanded not include, not only the protection of Kate's privacy, but also planning royal duties to the upbringing of the royal children. It was also reported that the rules resulted to engaging the services of expensive media lawyers to create that protective environment that Kate wanted.

However, much that Kate wanted to escape the shadows of Princess Diana, it seems there are too many parallelism to their lives. Prince Charles and Princess Diana divorced 19 years ago and on the anniversary of that divorce, the relationship between the Duke and the Duchess is showing some cracks.

But while Diana was naïve because of lack of experience, Kate Middleton is skilled, hence the Middleton Rules.

Princess Diana once noted, "Here was a fairy story that everybody wanted to work. So it was isolating, but it was also a situation where you couldn't indulge in feeling sorry for yourself. You had to either sink or swim and you had to learn that very fast."
