Since the announcement yesterday from Apple has shown that users will now be able to purchase the newest model of the iPhone, the iPhone 6S, it is time to talk about the now older models of the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus.  The good news is that both of these older models got a significant price cut, and now may be a good time to purchase the iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus, with or without a contract, on carriers like Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, US Cellular, and T-Mobile.

According to CNET, Apple as lowered the price on the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.  As of this Wednesday, it is possible to get a 16 GB version of the iPhone 6 with two year contract for about $99.  For those that want the iPhone 6 Plus, the same two year contract and 16 GB are available for $199.  Considering that the iPhone 6 used to be $199 and the iPhone 6 Plus was $299, this is a big $100 discount.

For some odd reason, the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus will not be available in gold anymore, according to Apple Insider.  Apple has also dissolved the 128 GB configuration as well, which means those who want to purchase the previous iPhone 6 devices will have to settle for Space Gray, silver, with options of 16 GB and 64 GB versions.   The gold color option has also been removed or the iPhone 5S, and the iPhone 5C has been discontinued entirely.

For those that want to have a contract free iPhone, you should be able to find the iPhone 6 at $549 and the iPhone 6 Plus at $649.  These are average prices for the iPhone 6 series without a contract.  In viewing the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus without a contract, the prices were different for Sprint, Verizon, AT&T, U.S. Cellular, and T-Mobile.

For the iPhone 6 on Verizon, without a contract, the price is $549.99, which is the same price for AT&T.  On T-Mobile, the price is $849.91.  On Sprint, the price is $649.99, which was the same price on US Cellular

As for the iPhone 6 Plus, it is available without a contract for $649.99 on AT&T, which is the exact same price available on Verizon.    The price on Sprint is $749.99, which is the exact same price on US Cellular.  Oddly enough, the T-Mobile full retail price on the iPhone 6 Plus is almost exactly the same as the iPhone 6 at $849.99.
